What a PERFECT wedding gift!!

So I have gotten to play around with my Cricut a little here lately. I have completed 2 projects so is the door of Bryson's room. I cut out vinyl letters....they turned out GREAT! Here, check it out for yourself....

I also had my brother in laws wedding to attend last night, so I thought I would put the Cricut to use for the perfect personalized gift...I used the Cricut to make a stencil and made some amazing etched glass pyrex dishes. No more taking your dish to someones house and losing it....check it out...they turned out wonderful! Tell me what ya think...

Here are the dishes all tied up with a ribbon....

I am so in LOVE with my new CRICUT! The possibilities for this thing are endless!

The newest member of the family....

Last week I celebrated my 28th birthday...I know, I am getting old! ;) Anyway, I have been telling the hubby that I NEEDED a cricut, that there were so many possibilites I could do with it...soooo believe it or not, my husband actually listens when I drop my subtle hints!! I was surprised the morning of my birthday with my brand new Cricut Expressions. Not only was it the Cricut Expressions, it was the breast cancer edition!!!! It came with the breast cancer cartridge, and it is PINK! I absolutely love this thing so far. I haven't done any actual projects with it, I have really been just playing with it and figuring it out. I can't wait to do my first project. Poor Bryson(the baby boy on the way), his whole room is going to be done with the Cricut! :) I just ordered vinyl this morning, so I can't wait for that to come in and get started on lots of project ideas I have in my head. I will post my projects as soon as I get them done.....

Perfect Shower Gift....

So, I told you last month when I made the changing pad I had another surprise for the new mommy to be....well its a whole diaper bag set!!! It is a matching changing pad and wipe case...the whole set turned out absolutely adorable! Soooo, if you are in search of that perfect shower gift, let me know!!! Let me know if there is a certain fabric you want to use, or what colors you want and we can work together to make a custom set!!! Fabric choices I have on hand are below, but as always, I can get what you want!!!

I am doing a boy one, for my little boy, soon! I will post that one as soon as I am done!!

Here are some pictures of the fabric that I currently have to make a pillowcase dress with. Not many choices, but if you have seen some fabric that you like, let me know and I can get that....

The DAWG fabric!! You can choose either the polka dots or the zebra for the coordinating fabric. Also, if you aren't a fan of the DAWGS(not sure why you wouldn't be, but just in case), I can get the fabric to make a dress with your favorite team, and some coordinating fabric. Just let me know, and if I can get that team, I will gladly make it! :)

The fun dots with a solid red coordinating fabric...

I LOVE this would make a GREAT fall/winter dress! I can't wait to make a dress with it and see the final outcome!

This is all I have at the moment, but you never know when I might find some more fabric that I like, the stuff is soooo addictive to buy!

My newest project!!!

So, as I told you, I am prego...not just me though, my 2 best friends are prego as well. One due in January, I am in February and the other in March! BUSY times ahead of us! Well, January sent me this changing pad that she said HAD to come home with her....well, I told her not to order it...I thought that maybe I could make it for her! So, I got to work yesterday working on that! I am pleased with the way it turned out! I actually made it a bit bigger than a typical changing pad, I thought it would be nice to have a bigger one since in reality we are changing diapers until about 2, sometimes almost 3 years old....soooo why make its small for a baby, when a toddler needs to use it as well! I don't know about you, but I don't want my toddler, just as much as I don't want my baby laying on the nasty public changing tables without something underneath them! :) So these are PERFECT no matter how big they are! They are washable, so throw it in the wash when it needs to be cleaned! Sooooooo.....drumroll please.......HERE IT IS!!!

I also made something else yesterday, but I don't want to give too much away for the January mommy to be! ;) I shall share that project with you next month!!!

Oh, and let me share my newest pillowcase dress which I LOVE the colors!! So here is the newest posh peach exclusive:

Catch Up!!

Ok, Ok! So it has been a REALLY long while since I have updated my Blog...I mean my 5 followers have no idea what is going on in my life...well make that 4, I think I follow myself! :) Anyway, so lets play catch up...I will wrap it all up in a nutshell...We had a GREAT summer! We spent some time on the lake and also took a week and went with the family to Myrtle Beach. My wonderful sister-in-law and her family joined us in Myrtle Beach and we all had a great time! When summer came to a close, school started back again....Rhett went to 2nd grade, and has an AMAZING teacher this year! We are so blessed to have someone to care about him and his learning so much. He also started playing football this year...thats part of the reason for no time to update this blog. Collin started high school...WOW how time flies! I can remember that year being such a scary year. He says he is enjoying his classes and is doing well! Cameron started his 2nd year at Georgia Southern. He is doing phenominal as a college student! We are so proud of proud he had to get a job this year and start paying a little bit of his way! :) Such mean people! He is doing well though!! For some news that has yet to be shared on this jewel of a blog of mine....The hubby and I are expecting a new baby in February!!! Yes we are probably CRAZY, we have 3 boys, the youngest 7 and the oldest 19!!! Sooooo, we thought we should start over! We are VERY excited though...can't wait to meet Bryson Anthoney!! Yup, I said Bryson, that means its a BOY!!!! So, I am totally outnumbered in this house....Well here are a couple of our catch up photos...hope you enjoy!!!

Who needs CLOSETMAID when you can have HUBBYMAID?!?!

I have been needing a closet system in my closet ever since we moved into this house. There was absolutely no where to put my shoes, and other various things that would end up in the floor of the closet. Sooooo, a few months ago the hubby and I planned out what he could build in order to get the stuff off the floor. Let me show what the closet looked like before(I cleaned up the floor right before this pic so there is nothing on the floor....but here is the before and after:

Isn't my husband absolutely AMAZING??? I absolutely LOVE my new closet! The best part of the new closet, is the shoe cubbies....I love the fact that my shoes now have a home! I tell ya, between the floral arrangements and this...I am going to have to keep him around!! :)

2010 Kennesaw Baseball Farm Ball Tournament Champs!!!

Well this weekend was our last game of the season! Not only was it the last game, it was the championship game!! We were in a double elimination tournament and hadn't lost yet. We played the championship game against the team that had only lost once...well the first game, bright and early at 9 a.m., did not turn out so well. We got beat, and we got beat BAD! Our boys just weren't quite awake yet, because the next game, we came back and played an AMAZING game and won it! So, we ended the season with a championship medal!! Way to go ASTROS!!! I was so very proud of the boys.

I guess now it is time I find something else to do with my spare time, maybe I can get back to crafting/sewing! I have soooo many projects planned, can't wait to share them all with you!
One last pic...they are incredibly excited and silly!!!!

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Well, as always I deal with ignorance on a daily basis, I work in the municipal court and handle traffic violations. I deal with people who have no one else to blame but me for their faults. I am called countless names, and told exactly where I can shove the ticket they received. So, you wonder how am I not a depressed person? Well, obviously I don't listen to much of what they have to say. It all goes in one ear and out the other...yes, my mother would probably tell me I found the perfect job, because that is what used to happen when she needed me to do something. :)

Anyway, today I was skimming through facebook status's and found one that really did not settle well with read like this: "all cops suck. y'all are pieces of shiat and good for nothing. you are not needed." That is copied and pasted, so its word for word. This is pure ignorance talking. I don't understand, as a cops wife I guess I may lean one way more than the other, but if you get a ticket, it doesn't mean the cop sucks. It means the cop was doing his/her job. I do totally understand that some abuse their power, and that is why you have the right, as a citizen to go to court. What I don't understand is how ALL of them suck? How we don't need them? Cops do not just hand out tickets. I know my husband on most days does not have time to sit and write traffic tickets. Instead he is out responding to calls about a domestic dispute, fight, robbery, etc. He is keeping the streets safer for you and I to be able to live the way that we do. If this to you sucks, or is not needed in any seriously have a problem. So, the next time you receive a traffic ticket, keep in mind that that officer doesn't suck, he is only doing the job he was trained to do, and hey...not all people are perfect, and this includes officers. They make mistakes sometimes and guess what, most aren't above admitting to that!

Are you ready for some football?!?!?!

I know one little girl that will be ready for some football come August...well atleast ready to watch the DAWGS play!!! Sundays have turned into sewing day, and the only things that I know how to really sew is a grocery bag holder and a pillowcase dress, and well, the pillowcase dress is just more fun. I have actually gotten to where I can knock one of these dresses out in no time...and they look better and better every time I do one! I think I may have to try and sell some at the yard sale next weekend...who knows!

Hope everyone has a great week, I need to go get my flowers planted now!!!!

Yup, that pic just about sums it up...sooooo incredibly much going on in my head right much to do, so little time!

I have not blogged in a very LOOOOOONNNNGGGG time! I know...I have had writers block, and little energy to complete any more projects. Although I did finish one more dress that is the same as the first dress I did, so didn't think it was worth posting.

Rhett's baseball is coming to a team mom I have lots to do in order to get a team party planned, trophies ordered and coach's gifts done...If you have ANY ideas for any of this stuff I would totally appreciate your input!

I also have our HUGE neighborhood yard sale this coming weekend, and yes, I am participating in that...CRAZY, I know! I never realized how hard it was to get ready for a yard sale....Oh, busy, busy times and I love every bit of it!

I am going to try and get a CUTIE dress done today. I hope it turns out as cute as it is in my head!
Hope your weekend was GREAT and I will post my newest dress as soon as it is complete!

I am not the only one in the family that can make things...

Yup, you heard me...I came home from work yesterday and my husband had made a floral arrangement for me! I wanted something on my landing a little more springish/summerish and showed him a few things that I liked and he came up with this...I am so incredibly proud of him!! It looks FAB on the landing when you come in the front door!!! Sooooooo, Mad props to the hubby on this one....

Alright, so you ready to see it????? Drumroll please..................................

WOW!!! I just don't know what we will do in this family with all this talent...

A few of my favorite things....

If I were told that I could take with me were 3 things when I left to go to work, I would not hesitate on what I would pick. There are 3 things that I KNOW I could not possibly make it through a day at work if someone took them from me. So here it is...

Number 1:

Yup, that's it, the cappuccino I buy at Sam's and HAVE to make a cup EVERY morning before I walk out the door. If I forget my coffee lord help the people that cross me that day, same goes if they cross me before I finish the entire cup.... :)

Number 2:

This really should go before the coffee, because while I am getting ready in the morning, before I ever get to make the coffee I am drinking a Dr. Pepper. I just love this wholesome goodness they call a soft drink! Pepsi should have a medal for making this stuff. This is like happiness in a can!!! I also drink several of these throughout the day....yes I know my kidneys are probably shot!

Number 3:

Last, but definitely not least is my IPOD! I mean, MAD props to Apple for coming up with this ingenious idea!!!!! I listen to this thing in order to make the morning and afternoon traffic a little more bearable. It is sooooo nice to not have to listen to commericals, and advertisements in the car.(Yes, I know they make satellite radio for that very reason, but I just am too cheap to pay them monthly, yearly, however you pay it). Anyway, I also use this at work in order to tune out some of the idiots I deal with on a daily basis. I would probably be insane without this.

So, there is my randomness for the day...a little bit about me! Hope everyone has a wonderful day, well, whats left of it! :)

My VERY first dress!

Well, I finally did it! I made a good friend of mines daughter a pillowcase dress(minus the pillowcase, I just used fabric)!!! I am so impressed with my mad dress making skills, and to think it only took me about 2 hours to make it from start to finish, and was surprisingly easy to make...I texted her a picture of the dress and she is already wanting to pay me to make her some more!!! I did explain to her that she needs to wear and wash this one first and make sure it stays together!! (HA!) I love the fun colors in the dress, it just yells spring and summer!!! I can't wait to see little Miss. Havannah running around in it....Let me know what you think, I woul LOVE to hear, and if you have a little girl that would love a dress like this, I will be taking orders after this one goes through the wash! :)

Happy Spring Break!!

Well, it is here...Spring Break has officially begun! Unfortunately I am not able to enjoy this week off with Rhett, I won't have any vacation time until next month...I am extremely excited about this week though, I get to sleep in for 30 minutes longer, and I don't have to rush home to get his HW done and make sure he is fed, bathed and in bed by 8:00! That to me is a HUGE break, and those of you with kids know where I am coming from.

So, whether you are like me and have to work, get to have next week off, or always get to enjoy the children at home...I hope you all have a wonderful spring break, and get some kind of break this week!!!

Our Date....

Well, I know you were all REALLY wanting to know what I planned for our date night. Well, we went to Kennesaw Mountain and laid in the field on some blankets and had a snacknic! We had fruit, chocolate and wine! It was such a great time to just catch up on life with the husband. We were able to talk and laugh, and no one was around to bother us. It was such a GREAT date!! After our snacknic, we hiked the mountain..well we walked a little ways up the mountain. My ticker over there only says I have quit smoking for almost 3 weeks...hiking a mountain isn't too easy! :) It was a great time though, and did I mention all that was paid for to spend this quality time with the husband was the fruit and chocolate??? What a CHEAP date, and one of my faves so far...lets just see if the husband can beat it next month! Wish him luck, and if you feel he needs help leave some comments of what he might be able to do to top my date! Here are a few pics of the date...

Date Night

So, the hubby and I have decided that once a month we are going to set aside a night for US. On these nights we will take turns planning the dates. I am so excited about this...the other person won't know where they are going or what they are doing until they get there! I just love this new idea! So, this first month is my month to plan it...I have got the BEST date ever planned. It is something we have never done together!!! I just can't wait...I can't tell you what it is either because he may read I will let you know at a later date what this date is! I hope I haven't left you hanging...just a few days and I can tell you what the date is!! Although, if anyone has any suggestions for future dates...I am always up for new ideas, so just let me know!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Just wanted to drop in and tell everyone Happy St. Patricks Day!!! I know, its a little late for that, but for some the drinking of the green beer has yet to begin, although for those of us with children are more than likely finishing up our days! Anyway, no matter what the plan is, hope you have a GREAT day!! HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!

Rhett's St. Patricks Day Shirt...My first Applique Project

I decided to make Rhett a St. Patricks day shirt that didn't look so babyish, or have some corny saying on it. Rhett is all about skulls and crossbones here lately, so I had some fabric that had that on it, and decided to get a green shirt and applique a shamrock onto the shirt...seeing as this is my first time EVER appliquing(not sure if that is spelled right), I must say I am pretty proud. It has a couple spots where it could use some work, but all in all, I am pleased! Well, I guess I can let you see for yourself....

My extremely handsome Irish boy!!

Up close!

Hopping Into Spring

I was thinking earlier in the week how my house needs a touch of spring. I am not one to decorate my house with pastel blues, greens, yellows and pinks. Sorry, it just doesn't go with the main colors in the house. Well, while looking at all the blogs I follow, I came across some twine'ified eggs over at Domestically Speaking's Blog! You can view them on Domestically Speaking's blog here ! These are absolutely adorable eggs wrapped in twine. Well, I didn't have twine so I improvised and used some hemp. They still turned out GREAT! All I have done so far is enough for spring decor on my are a few pics of what I did:

The Twine'ified Eggs

The Spring Mantle Decor

Well, I am going to get back to making more eggs...need to get a centerpiece done for my island! Everyone have a GREAT week!!

Taking the Challenge

Well, I woke up this morning and decided that I was going to quit smoking. I decided I didn't really NEED a cigarette, so as of now, I have 2 cigarettes left and once they are gone, that will be it. This is going to be a long road, and if history repeats itself, if I can make it through the second week...I will be good to go! I have always made it through the first week, and when it comes to the second week I turn into evil devil woman, and my husband will be the one driving to the store and buying me a cigarette. I mean, I become so bitchy that I can't even stand to be around myself. So, in other words....wish me luck and pray for my family! Hopefully we can all make it through this alive!

Home Is Where You Hang Your Bags!

This is what it looks like in the cabinet under my sink....

Wow! How embarrassing, can't believe I showed you that picture...Well, I have had enough of that, all the grocery bags need a new home...

So, I decided to use my sewing machine and make a home for the grocery bags, so today, I made a grocery bag holder...not the best looking thing, but I am extremely proud!! This is the first usable item I have made with my sewing machine! I am sooo excited, this bag will always be cherished. Anyway, here is my masterpiece...

Now my husband can't tell me he bought that sewing machine for nothing... :) I am figuring it out slowly but surely. I don't have much time these days since baseball has started, so I am working on it when I can. Keep checking back for more fun projects I have done!

I'm dreaming of a white.....

BEACH!!! I am so ready for a beach vacation it's not even funny. The only white we have seen around here is snow, and I am sick of that. I am ready for the warm weather, sand between my toes and pina colada with the little umbrella thingy in it! Yes, I said the umbrella, because it is not a pina coloda without the umbrella thingy! I can't wait for summer vacation to the beach...I can just taste the salt water and feel the sand! Alright, enough of me talking about it, let me go find a good deal at the beach!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Over it...

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that I am OVER the snow...sooooo ready for spring/summer! Bring on the lake, pool and beach...alright, just thought I would let you know.

Tooth Fairy

My baby boy lost his first tooth last the tooth fairy made its appearance at our house for the first time. When Rhett woke up, he found a gold dollar coin under his pillow. He was SO excited he thought that he had treasure. He had to take it to school and show his class today, I really hope he makes it back home with that gold coin!! Here is his picture as a snaggle tooth....

Oh, and for whatever reason he feels like he needs to run around the hosue with no shirt on...guess its a "man" thing!

Rude People

I am not promoting this book, however, I just might go and get it, looks like it could be good, although I am kind of judging a book by its cover. Anyway, so I work in the court, I deal with people on a daily basis that seem to think it was my fault they were speeding that day, or it was my fault that they drank and drove, etc. Well, I am used to rude people, I usually just smile and go on with my day...until today. I had one that really got me, and it was all over a $25 parking ticket. I asked her if I could help her and she started cussing me out, telling me she didn't need to get that ticket...on and on and on, with lots of colorful language. I finally told her that there was no need to use that language with me, that I didn't write her the ticket. Told her she could set a court date...she didn't want to do that...she cussed at me some more. Finally I told her that when she could calm down she could come back and I would set her a court date. She didn't like that idea either. So needless to say, she really got to me...I mean what is the need in walking up and starting to cuss, I mean usually they start cussing me out when I get rude with them first...not the other way around. Also, if you really want something done, don't piss me off from the start, I am NOT going to help you out in any way shape or form if you start cussing me out. I really just don't understand need to be rude with someone that did absolutely nothing! Ok, thanks for letting me vent today...hope everyone has a TERRIFIC THURSDAY!

My sewing progress....

Hope everyone is having a good day today...mine started rather rough, but its turning into a good one. Anyway, just wanted to share my wonderful progress on teaching myself to sew. Sunday night when I got my machine I was able to learn to wind the bobbin and put it in the machine...YES!! I had enough Sunday night, had to think too hard so I went to bed. Last night, I was able to thread the upper thread, and pull the bobbin thread up...I feel absolutely accomplished now. I also was able to sew a piece of fabric to test it and make sure it was going to work...well....drumroll is the piece I sewed...

So the line isn't very straight, I will have to work on that...but hey! I got the bobbin wound and the machine threaded, I think that is pretty darn good for someone who has NEVER touched a sewing machine in there life! GO ME!! Hopefully I will be able to post my FIRST project soon...stay tuned!

Monday, February 15, 2010

My New Friend....

I have to share with you my new friend...I have a feeling my new friend will instantly turn into my new love...(sorry Toney, I will always love you as well!) Anyway...I finally got myself a sewing machine!! I was so excited, I looked at them before going to the store online, and found the Brother Project Runway edition machine, I thought that is it, that is the machine I will own. Well, I have NEVER sewed a day in my life and standing in the store looking at that particular machine, I began to feel VERY intimidated. So, I ended up getting the Singer Simple machine. I thought that one would be a GREAT beginner machine! So, here is the picture of my new "friend"....

I will be taking orders soon as I learn how to thread the machine! HA!

DIY Dry Erase Calendar

So I have been looking at a Dry Erase Calendar at Hobby Lobby for months. I went last night to finally get it because it was 50% off, and guess what! They didn't have it anymore. Well, when I don't get what I want, when I want brain begins to work! I thought how you can write on glass with dry erase pens, and how I could make my own dry erase calendar. So, since my husband had to work this morning, I took off to Wal-Mart to get the supplies to make the dry erase calendar! Here are the supplies I bought...

So, I started by measuring the glass horizontally and divided that by 7 (7 days in the week), measured it out and took a ruler with the paint pen and made my lines. I then measured vertically and kind of eyeballed the lines for that way. Took my paint pen again and made my lines. After making sure the paint from the pen was dry, I flipped the glass over so the paint would be on the inside of the frame, that way from excessive cleaning and wiping of the board, I wouldn't eventually rub off the lines. (Yup, I am pretty genius!) So, I went down to all my scrapbooking materials and found some sticker letters, stuck those on for the dates, filled in the calendar for the month of February...and wha la!! I got a calendar!!!! Here is te finished product...

It has imperfections, but I never claimed to be perfect. Plus, the imperfections make it MY work...not something I would have bought! Now, go grab your supplies and get organized with this AMAZING calendar!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! Hope you all have a GREAT day full of LOVE! Mine will be rather of my valentines is working and the other is at his dads...I am thinking today is a good day to get crafty. I am feeling rather crafty today...I already have in my head what I am going to do....sooooooooo stay tuned for an exciting craft project! Can't wait to share it with you all!!

So...My dinnerware is black and white polka dots, and I am always looking for black and white polka dotted serveware, big bowls, platters, etc...Today I was at Ross just browsing and I came across the most wonderful piece to add to my collection....

I just had to share...oh, and did I mention that it only cost me $10????? Yup, that is it!! I just LOVE being a bargain shopper! Stick with me, and I will show you how to get GREAT deals!!
