Can't Keep a Momma Down

So the last 3 weeks have been pretty chaotic here in the Langley house!! Our bundle of joy finally arrived on February 12, 2011, after 3 hours of pushing with no luck, they finally took me into the OR for a c-section. I don't think I had ever been so nervous in my life, I didn't know what to expect with a c-section. Needless to say, the recovery wasn't near what I thought it would be. I had heard horror stories about c-section recovery. I was at the ballpark for Rhett's practice a week later...can't keep the mom of 2 down for too long! :) The first 3 weeks of Bryson's life has been amazing! I forgot how needy a newborn baby was, but it is all worth it when I look at him and see how perfect he is. He is oh so adorable and too sweet! It's amazing how you think that you can't love the second one as much as you loved the first, but WOW, there is so much love in my heart for ALL my boys! I don't have time to upload too many pics because its time to feed the little guy, but here is my fave pic of Rhett and Bryson...

Well it has been over a year since I have started this blog...my how time flies! Well, for those 5 people that follow me, thank you so much for following my randomness and checking out all my projects when I attempt to be crafty! Hopefully this year brings more projects....Can't wait to see what it holds! I can say I am ready to have this baby...10 more days till due day...but I am hoping he will make his debut prior to that!! Oh, and how about the groundhog didn't see his shadow...WOOP WOOP, early spring is coming our way!!!! TTYL!!!

Nesting...and a cute project...

I am so glad the last few days have been weekend days and a holiday, otherwise I would sit at work and it would drive me crazy all day the things I needed to get done...I have cleaned out drawers, washed baby clothes with that amazing smelling baby detergent, organized baby clothes, organized Rhett's clothes and today is the day to organize the kitchen drawers. Yup, I think that is what they call nesting...I keep telling myself all this stuff HAS to be done! I guess its just me wanting it to be easier when we get home....wanting everything to be clean and organized when we bring Bryson into his new home. Now, the only problem is, I get tired easily and can't seem to get EVERYTHING I want to get done, done! Thanks to such a wonderful husband who when I ask him to do something crazy, totally not necessary, he does it for me. Probably so he doesn't have to hear me gripe that he didn't, but smart man none the less!

Well other than nesting, I have wanted to make things, so over the last week I have gotten pretty crafty in the basement in the craft room. Here are the few things I have made....

First was the nursing cover I made, I wanted a nursing cover but was not thrilled about spending $40 on one, not to mention all I could find were ones that looked rather girly, and I wanted something that was both boyish, yet cute since I had to wear it. So this is what I came up with...

It is complete with boning in the neck so it kind of pokes out in order for me to see Bryson...I love the way it turned out!

Another project I worked on was some wall hangings for my 2 pregnant friends for there babies rooms...they turned out pretty cute too! I was going to make one for Bryson but his walls are full and I am not sure where I would hang it...but here is what I did for the cutie pregnant ladies...

This is Miss. London's! She is going to be making her entrance into this world this week...we all can't wait to meet her! I know she is going to be perfect!!!

And last, but certainly not least...this is Miss. Brydall's. She is planned to maker her debut in March. I can't wait to meet her as well...I know she will be perfect too!!!!

Alright, well that is it...a little catch up on what has been going on over here. It is time to grab some breakfast, and get started on that kitchen! Talk to you all soon...next time could be when I have sweet baby Bryson by my side! :)

First Snow of 2011

Georgia weather is just absolutely crazy lately! We have gotten quite a bit of snow in just a little bit of time...CRAZY! So for the second day, Rhett and I are stuck in the house with no way to get out. We did have a friend and her son come Sunday night in order to get snowed in with us so they could play with us. We had lots of fun the first day in the snow, granted it is a LOT of work to get Rhett ready to go out in the snow, and him only stay there for about 30 minutes at a time. Today, Rhett hasn't asked to go back out and I haven't pushed it...I prefer to sit inside and see the snow from afar...not to mention its more ice today than snow. Well, hopefully we will be able to get out tomorrow...here are some pics of our day in the snow...

First he had to play with his new remote control truck....

And then he did some sledding....

Then we watched the fire truck that was stuck on the hill in front of our house...

Then we had to warm up with hot chocolate....

Finally sewed something for my baby boy....

So, I have used my sewing machine quite a bit...and I have nothing to show for it, other than pictures of the things I have made for friends and family! I have finally made something that myself and Bryson will get to enjoy, once he gets here! :) His changing pad and wipe case is now complete, and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. Its the perfect mix of boy and cute!

Now, it is a new year, and time for me to get started on some of my GREAT ideas I have in my mind with both my sewing machine and my Cricut. First things first though, I am going to organize the craft room so I know what I have on hand and I don't keep buying new stuff when I actually have what I need. Sooooo, stay tuned for some more projects!!

What a PERFECT wedding gift!!

So I have gotten to play around with my Cricut a little here lately. I have completed 2 projects so far...one is the door of Bryson's room. I cut out vinyl letters....they turned out GREAT! Here, check it out for yourself....

I also had my brother in laws wedding to attend last night, so I thought I would put the Cricut to use for the perfect personalized gift...I used the Cricut to make a stencil and made some amazing etched glass pyrex dishes. No more taking your dish to someones house and losing it....check it out...they turned out wonderful! Tell me what ya think...

Here are the dishes all tied up with a ribbon....

I am so in LOVE with my new CRICUT! The possibilities for this thing are endless!

The newest member of the family....

Last week I celebrated my 28th birthday...I know, I am getting old! ;) Anyway, I have been telling the hubby that I NEEDED a cricut, that there were so many possibilites I could do with it...soooo believe it or not, my husband actually listens when I drop my subtle hints!! I was surprised the morning of my birthday with my brand new Cricut Expressions. Not only was it the Cricut Expressions, it was the breast cancer edition!!!! It came with the breast cancer cartridge, and it is PINK! I absolutely love this thing so far. I haven't done any actual projects with it, I have really been just playing with it and figuring it out. I can't wait to do my first project. Poor Bryson(the baby boy on the way), his whole room is going to be done with the Cricut! :) I just ordered vinyl this morning, so I can't wait for that to come in and get started on lots of project ideas I have in my head. I will post my projects as soon as I get them done.....
